Vision

The Canadian Association for Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Medicine is a non-profit research organization dedicated to research questions at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Medicine and human health. Our purpose is to foster public health through the responsible development, advancement and utilization of artificial intelligence, and to guide communities to utilize AI responsibly.

We build communities around important topics in Medicine and act as a hub between Universities, Governmental Organizations, non-profits and Industry to ensure the safe, ethical implimentation of artificial intelligence in Medicine.

We strive for a balanced integration of Medical Sciences, Computer Sciences, and Social Sciences. This approach equally values all aspects in the biomedical AI value chain including.

  • Biology and medicine for insights on health and disease
  • Laboratory automation to generate data in an unbiased way
  • Bioinformatics and health informatics in engineering data for use in AI
  • AI and computer science for extracting patterns from large data
  • Oversight from the humanities in Data and research ethics in order to ensure the Responsible use of AI in medicine
  • A deep understanding of human behavior and societal impact from social sciences to ensure adoption of research outputs
